Game Servers & Related Services

Want to play a game with your friends, on a server you can trust? Don’t know what server to use in a new game? Drauger OS community members are welcome to use these servers whenever they wish!

Minetest

Minetest is a free, open-source, voxel game, similar to Minecraft. While more bare-bones by default than Minecraft, many Minecraft players will be able to get the hang of Minetest almost immediately.

Installation

On Drauger OS, or any other Debian-based Linux OS, run this in a terminal: sudo apt install minetest

Mods can be installed via: sudo apt install minetest-mod-*, or you can use Minetest’s new in-game mod manager!

Server Setup

Go to the “Join Game” and enter the following for each field:

  • Address: minetest.draugeros.org
  • Port: 3000
  • Username: Whatever username you desire.
  • Password: Whatever password you desire (remember this! It cannot be recovered!)

Mumble

Mumble is a Free, open-source, low latency voice chat client, similar to Team Speak.

Installation

On Drauger OS, or any other Debian-based Linux OS, run this in a terminal:

sudo apt install mumble

Alternatively, you could also do:

sudo snap install mumble

We suggest the standard apt package.

Server Setup

Launch Mumble and go through the initial setup wizard. Afterward, a connect dialog should appear.

  • Address: nixnet.services
  • Port: Leave default

The Drauger OS channel is meant for specifically Drauger OS users, but the rest of the server is ran by our good friends over at Nixnet. Feel free to use it within the bounds of the rules. This server uses encryption to communicate with the client by default. So those who are concerned about security have less to worry about. Further documentation can be found on the Nixnet Wiki.
