How to add the Drauger OS apt repo to your install

By default, Drauger OS 7.4.1 Beta 2 and beyond come with the repo added by default. However, if the repo was somehow removed from your system, or if you are on Beta 1 and have not yet upgraded, you can follow these instructions to add the apt repo to your installation.

Step 1

Run this command to install a necessary package:

sudo apt install apt-transport-https

Step 2

sudo apt edit-sources

Once the file opens, use your arrow keys to scroll to the bottom and add this line, replacing “codename” with the codename for the release you have installed (learn about which release you have, and the differences them all, here):

deb codename main

Press Ctrl+O to save, then Ctrl+X to exit, if you are using nano.

Step 3

sudo apt update

You should get an error. In that error that should be a string of random letters and numbers. Copy that for the next step.

Step 4

Run the following command, with the string that you just copied pasted in:

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver --recv-keys [paste-string-here]

Afterwards, run:

sudo apt update

And you should be done!
