I’m sure many of you are coming here with something close to, “Wait what? This is a thing?” running through your heads. Let me assure you that this feature is very much a thing.
Logging into Steam Big Picture Mode directly from the lock screen has historically has been limited to Steam OS. Well, not anymore!
Before we get started, make sure you set up your Steam account. If you don’t do this, logging in will result in a black screen and you will have to reboot or get back to the login screen some other way. Also, make sure you are running Drauger OS. This feature isn’t present on other operating systems, so far as I am aware.
Logging into Steam Big Picture Mode is actually super simple, once you setup your Steam account. Just follow these 4 simple steps:
1. Get to the login screen
Log out, reboot, startup your computer, however you prefer to do it.
2. Click this icon
3. Click this button
No, seriously, just login. You’re done! Have fun with Steam Big Picture Mode!
If you want to log back into Xfce later, just get back to the login screen, click the same icon, then click Xfce Session.
